Today, Congress accused Anna Hajare and said that the letter he wrote to Prime Minister didn’t seem like a Gandhian pacifist letter. Anna Hajare rightly responded that he is surely very much influenced by Mahatma Gandhi but he also knows Chatrapati Shivaji. The real issue is about the freedom of expression of an individual. Can congress really accuse anyone for expressing negative opinion about the Prime Minister? Will government culminate the individual’s right and freedom of speech if common men start criticizing against the government? What will they do tomorrow when a huge number of people raise their voices against the corrupt and tyrant government when Anna Hajare will begin his Anshan? Will they attack the peaceful protesters just like they attacked the peacefully sleeping people in Ramleela Maidan at midnight on 4rth of June? Nothing is impossible, this time the government knows that people are more determined than ever and hence government may order for curfew in Delhi and shoot at sight like orders. Congress spokesman Manish Tiwari also accused Anna Hajare of being a corrupt and claimed that …Read the Rest

The United States and India are considered as the two biggest democracies with different political system. One is presidential democracy and other is parliamentary democracy. However, both are form of representative democracy which asserts that the politicians are the representatives chosen by the people to rule, exploit and dominate them. These politicians enjoy the privileges of unquestionable rulers with utmost power to manipulate and exploit citizens as the citizens are bound by the social contract which they never saw, never signed yet, this confusing social contract asserts that people ‘willingly’ accepted the rule of these politicians and excepted their exploitative dominance over themselves. Mahatma Gandhi explained the farce of representative democracy when he said, “It is a superstition and an ungodly thing to believe that an act of a majority binds a minority.1 ” It certainly is a sham and ugly thing to accept the supremacy of politicians and to consider them as the moral rulers of the country to whom, we citizens must believe and obey. Mahatma Gandhi clearly criticized Indian parliament when he said, “If India copies England, …Read the Rest

Last month, when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh claimed that he has no objection in accepting the demand of Civil Society to keep the Prime Minister Office within the ambit of proposed Jan Lokpal Bill, Mr. Anna Hajare praised him and said that India is fortunate to get such an honest prime minister. He is the same prime minister who claimed that the honesty of prime minister and wife of Julius Ceaser should remain beyond doubts. However, it is certainly difficult for anyone to believe that Manmohan Singh remain innocent, ignorant and honest while almost every second politician of his central government was committing scam, corruption and crime. This doubt grew dense last week when A. Raja, the prime excused of 2G Spectrum scam claimed that whatever he did was under direct purview of Manmohan Singh and P. Chidambaram, who was then finance minister of India. And now, Manmohan Singh further deepened the mystery by claiming that after studying all aspects of Lokpal Bill and functionality of government, he is against the proposal of keeping prime minister and PMO under the …Read the Rest

It seems that neither Swami Ramdev1 , nor Anna Hajare really understand the nature and psychology of politicians and their political moves and that is why it is hard for the civil society of India to produce anything valid and effective against the corrupt political, administrative and judicial system of India. The same problem of being unable to understand the nature of politicians was faced by the U.S. citizens when they wanted to dethrone George W. Bush and his Republican government as they were opposing the senseless and highly expensive wars raised by Bush government on the name of war on terror. The result of their lack of understanding of psychology of politicians led them to believe that the Democrats under the leadership of Barack Obama would be able to end their misery and the 44th and current president of the United States would successfully reduce the burden of national debt and economical turmoil and he will also be able to improve image of the United States in other parts of the world. However, time proved that Obama was no …Read the Rest
